The inaugural BetVictor Club Poker League competition has been won by “alias 111” from the UK who managed to take home the top prize of Euro 1,500.
The competition attracted an enormous amount of interest by online players from all over the world who gathered to pit their skills at the launch of online poker room, BetVictor’s first league.
The BetVictor Club offered players a free play league and the offer was taken up by more than 500 players. Prize money in excess of Euro 10,000 was handed out by the site. BetVictor had invited players to enter the league and earn points throughout last month, with the winner taking home the top prize.
November saw the BetVictor Poker Club League attracting players from a total of 47 countries with 20% of the field dominated by players from Israel and 20% from the UK. Only one player from Israel made it to the top twenty and one player from the UK, “alias 111” managed to make it to the very top of the board.
Mark Napolitano, a host at the BetVictor Club, said that although the League had started out being dominated by Bulgarians, they failed to close the deal in the end and eventually finished with 4 top 20 finishers despite the fact that they only had approximately 6% of the total entries. Napolitano added that “gladius1”, a top Bulgarian, managed to finish as runner up.
BetVictor reported that the competition had proved to be very tough with the top ten finishers split by less than 50 points. The second-place prize of Euro 1,000 went to Gladius1 from Bulgaria.
