Just hours after Microgaming launched its Bad Beat Jackpot on its poker network, after freezing the game for software upgrade, a massive €924,728 jackpot was hit at Stan James Poker. On March 19th, the online casino and poker software provider rolled out its new Bad Beat Jackpot system, and it was expected that players would flock to their favorite Microgaming poker rooms to try their luck at Bad Beat tables. However, nobody imagined that only several hours later, TiltShove’s Straight Flush would be beaten by a higher Straight Flush, and he’d take home €370,789 in ‘consolation money’.
“I have been waiting for the relaunch of the Bad Beat Jackpot promotion as the olde tables were out of my league,” said the ecstatic winner. “The new promotion makes it much easier to trigger…. This win is a life changing amount for me and my family, and I’m still trying to get my head around what it means to us. Thank you for running such a great promotion!”
TiltShove, as the winning ‘loser,’ took home €370K, while another 52 players shared another $184K. Since the actual winning hand player had not opted in to the Bad Beat Jackpot, and 20% of the total jackpot is rolled over the new jackpot’s seed, the next prize up for grabs begins at €370K.
“We are delighted that so many players could share in this fantastic jackpot,” said the Head of Poker at Stan James. “The pot is still huge and much easier to hit than ever before, so there is plenty for players to be excited about.”
