Skillbet.com Claims to be Legal in 28 US States

Despite the fact that the United States government deemed online poker “illegal” just over a year ago when it shut down all online poker sites which included PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, it is now functioning in a reduced capacity within the United States.

Players living in the United States now have an opportunity to play online poker at Skillbet.com as the poker room pits two poker players against one another and thus claims to have removed the element of chance from the equation.

Skillbet.com deals identical hands to two players who play against the same five computer bots in Texas Hod’em. The differential between the two live players is won by whoever ends up with the most chips which excludes the bots.

Although this concept had already been tried before in Duplicate Poker it had not been a success.

The difference between Duplicate Poker and Skillbet was explained by a representative for Skillbet.com who appeared on the TwoPlusTwo.com posting forum. The representative claimed that whereas Duplicate allowed for collusion, Skllbet does not do so and added that this collusion is impossible in Skillbet due to the fact that only two people are competing.

Skillbet.com is hoping that it will gain the trust of Justice Marc Zwillinger, the former head of internet gaming enforcement from the Department of Justice as it claims that the new online poker site is legal in 28 states, including Colorado.

It is felt that Skillbet.com should concentrate on promoting their products to their current and future customers in order to keep the wheels turning.
