Playtech, one of the leading online casino software and service providers, has announced that it has appointed Ron Hoffman, who currently serves as its’ Vice President of Finance to take over from the outgoing Group Finance Director, David Mathewson. Mathewson had already announced his intention to leave Playtech in August 2012 and will now be officially resigning at the end of this month.
Mathewson joined Playtech after being employed at Sportech Plc, and after serving as non-executive director of Playtech he was hired as the group’s Group Finance Director in 2011.
Ron Hoffman is a qualified accountant who was previously employed at Ernst & Young, Israel in a managerial position and joined Playtech’s financial team in 2004.
Roger Withers, the Chairman of Playtech, welcomed Ron Hoffman and said that he was thrilled to have him move up to the position of Group Finance Director of the company. Withers added that he is delighted that Ron is joining the Playtech Board as it is at present a very important time in the company’s development. Ron has worked closely with David Mathewson over the past few years and has played an important part in all of the group’s successful acquisitions.
Withers thanked David Mathewson on behalf of the Board for his significant contribution to Playtech, in helping the Company through to raising capital and moving to the main market. Withers also wished David Mathewson well for the future.
Playtech has in excess of 150 innovative online casino games in its portfolio that include blackjack, slots, roulette and Pai Gow Poker. The group’s collection of Marvel themed slots games includes titles such as the Incredible Hulk slot and the Spiderman slot.
