PKR Experiencing Financial Difficulties

Microgaming regrets to announce that, at the request from industry legacy online poker operator PKR on Wednesday, 3rd May 2017, it has suspended gameplay on PKR.com.

PKR’s website (PKR.com) was offline for over 48 hours this week, leading players to speculate regarding the operator’s future.

PKR platform partner Microgaming, revealed that they are aware that PKR’s games remain offline and that they will share any more information on the situation as soon as possible.

PKR is one of the oldest poker operators in the industry, having launched in 2006 as a standalone 3D online poker room.

However, PKR has seen a dramatic drop in its poker player liquidity which resulted in the company being forced to merge its standalone platform with Microgaming network provisions in March, 2016.

In 2016, PKR management, under the leadership of its new Chief Executive Officer Chris Welch and having secured new investment, revealed that the company would diversify its product ranging in an endeavor to add an online casino extension and study the possibility of launching a sports betting product.

Microgaming has since confirmed that applications to Court for Administration orders have been filed by PKR, which is due to be heard in the week starting Monday, 8th May 2017.

Microgaming is anticipating that more information will be placed on the website http://status.pkr.com/ once the hearings are complete which will include contact details for creditors and players to address queries and details of the process.

Microgaming, as a creditor, will divulge whatever information as and when it becomes available.
