Mobile Platform Introduced by MGM Resorts

MGM Resorts International, a Nevada based gaming, hospitality and entertainment company, has announced that it has launched a new “mobile play” platform that will see guests at nine of its Las Vegas resorts being able to gamble with real money in tournament games and play casino games outside the casino.

The company has described the new mobile platform, called easyPLAY Mobile Tournaments, as the first interactive and digital tournaments to be offered by a regulated casino in the United States.

Patrons at any of the nine resorts can now compete with each other in a number of different tournament-styled casino games which include Slots, Video Poker and Bingo as well as Free-to-play games.

The platform is only available through the MGM properties’ wi-fi and can be accessed via laptops, computers, cellphones, and designated tables located throughout the premises.

Developed by Las Vegas-based mobile gaming company oneLIVE Inc. the new mobile platform is currently available at MGM Grand Resort, Excalibur, New York-New York, Luxor, Mirage, Aria, Mandalay Bay and Bellagio resorts.

The highlight of the launch is the “All Summer Long Winner Takes All Progression Slot Machine Tournament” offering a $10,000 first prize and costing $5 to enter.

Tom Mikulic, Senior VP of Business Development for MGM Resorts International described the platform as providing guests with an exciting, new opportunity to play their favorite games, while enjoying other amenities than those that are found inside the casino. He added that the tournaments are extremely user-friendly and bring an element of competition that their guests are bound to enjoy, whether sitting at a bar or hanging out by the pool.
