A representative from Microgaming presented a cheque to the chairman of the Microgaming Marown Badminton Club at Centre 21 on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. The company’s sponsorship will see the club being assisted in buying new equipment, coaching for younger members and the hiring of sports halls.
There are currently over 30 players in the club aged between 11 and 50. These players train twice a week, namely on Mondays at 20.00 to 22.00 at Centre 21 and on Thursdays at 19.000 to 21.00 at the Bemahague School sports hall.
The Marown Badminton Club enjoyed a very successful 2011/12 season and reported that its A Team came second in the Men’s, Ladies and Mixed Leagues. The Isle of Man Badminton 2012/13 League begins on Monday, October 8, 2012 and Microgaming Marown Badminton Club intends entering several teams in various leagues.
Roy Corlett, Chairman of Microgaming Marown Badminton Club, said that he is thrilled that Microgaming has come on board in order to sponsor their 2012/13 season. Corlett added that Microgaming is an ideal sponsor and a very fitting choice for their club as it relies heavily on teamwork. Microgaming’s philosophy “together we are the game” is, therefore, a perfect reflection of their clubs spirit and ethos.
