Microgaming Donates to Teenage Cancer Trust

A Teenage Cancer Trust has received a donation of £7,500 from a Douglas-based company, Microgaming, as part of the company’s Gift of Giving campaign.

Customers had selected this specific charity as winner of Gift of Giving 2016 for the United Kingdom and Europe.

The campaign, has resulted in Microgaming donating a massive amount of £30,000 between four charities, instead of giving Christmas gifts, through the company’s Play It Forward program.

The Regional Fundraiser of the Teenage Cancer Trust, Sabina Ruta, commented on the huge donation by saying that they have made amazing progress in making sure that young people with cancer are given the very best care and support.

Ruta went on to say that they are incredibly grateful to Microgaming as well as everyone who voted for them for helping them to make sure that no young person will have to face cancer on their own.

The Teenage Cancer Trust dedicates itself to enhancing the quality of life and chances of survival for the seven young people between the ages of 13 and 24 who are diagnosed with cancer each day.

Specialist units in NHS hospitals are built by the charity fund that also provides dedicated staff in order to bring young people together so that they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the most suitable place for them.

According to the charity, young people who are treated together with children or elderly patients at the end of their lives can feel isolated with some of them never meeting another young person with cancer.

Young people and health professionals are also educated about cancer by the Teenage Cancer Trust in order to help improve the speed and quality of diagnosis.
