Microgaming, the Isle of Man based leading provider of online gaming software, has announced that it has signed a productive licensing agreement with NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products.
In terms of the new deal, Microgaming will create video slot games which are based on the popular SyFy television series Battlestar Galactica. The new titles are scheduled to be released by Microgaming later this year.
SyFy aired the show for four very successful seasons between 2004 and 2009. When the final season of Battlestar Galactica was aired the show, which is produced by Universal Cable Productions, attracted 14 million viewers from around the globe.
Battlestar Galactica tells the story of the struggle that the last remnants of humanity went through in order to find a new home while fleeing from deadly Cylon enemies.
Roger Raatgever, Chief Executive Officer of Microgaming revealed that they are very excited to be creating video slots which are based on one of the world’s best TV shows and which are “light years ahead of the rest”. Raatgever added that they are confident that they will do the Battlestar Galactica brand justice and will not only please their own base of players but will exceed all the expectations of the show’s fans.
The Director of Global Consumer Products for NBCUniversal Television, Christopher Lucero, reported that they are thrilled to be partnering with Microgaming on the Battlestar Galactica online video slots. Lucero added that they are certain that Microgaming will be able to capture all of the action of Battlestar Galactica with the real-life exhilaration of online gambling and that they will create an exciting brand extension for Battlestar fans and gamers all over the world.
