Microgaming came out with an announcement today that entries for the 2017 Microgaming Isle of Man Marathon and Half Marathon are open as of now.
Recognized as one of the Top 10 running events in the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man Marathon takes place each year on North of the island. Its picturesque course, beautiful scenery and great air make this race particularly popular among runners.
Microgaming has been involved as sponsor of this event for five years if one includes the upcoming 2017 marathon that is due to take place on Sunday, August 13th. This year, for the first time, organizers have added a four leg relay race, comprising teams of four runners.
Last year, 448 people passed the Isle of Man Marathon finish line, and Microgaming hopes that this year will see even more participate.
The head of Microgaming PlayItForward, Claire Coleman said: “This will be the fifth year working with the IOMVAC marathon committee and I’m delighted to see how much we have grown the event over the years. I think the addition of the relay will only encourage more people to get involved. With entries now open, we hope to see numbers increase yet again for 2017.”
The chairman of the Isle of Man Veteran Athletes’ Club, which organizes the event, said that the relay race was a first for the island and he hoped that it would be a popular addition to the event.
