In just twenty four hours of the claims made by the UK national lottery operator Camelot that its close rival Lottoland would not increase EuroMillions tickets prize which is not good for the business since Camelot had decided to raise main draw price to £2.50.
Earlier, it was taken as the business strategy being followed by these operators who are among the top ten lottery operators in the UK, but after a firing reaction of the Lottoland, it is being taken as there is more to come in the controversy as time passes by. However, if closely look at the claims leveled by the Camelot it directly hits over the biasness of the odds being offered by the Lottoland at the cost of stable ticket prices, it said, Lottoland’s games will not be offering equal winning opportunities to win as the main draw. After going through the defamatory remarks of the way it functions, Lottoland said: “Camelot have made several false, misleading and inaccurate statements about Lottoland.
“We note that this comes at a time when they are receiving a great deal of negative publicity in the media for increasing their prices. This is a matter of the utmost importance to us and we will be letting the UK Gambling Commission know of our serious concerns. Camelot appear to be abusing their position as a legal monopoly in the lottery sector, it is unfortunate that they clearly feel so threatened by Lottoland’s growth in the UK, that they have resorted to these underhand tactics.
“The article in question states that a Camelot spokesperson said Lottoland players will not win the same main game prizes when betting on the draw as they would purchasing a ticket with them. This is categorically untrue. We offer all the same main game prizes as those available on the official draw, including the jackpot.
“Camelot also stated that Lottoland players do not receive any additional benefits betting on the draw with us as opposed to purchasing tickets for the draw. For the record, the correct position is that our players receive many additional benefits such as their first bet free, discounted offers, loyalty schemes, special jackpots, and a much wider product offering – giving them the chance to bet on 25 different lotteries from around the world.”
Looking at the heated arguments between the two, this matter does not look like to be cooling down soon, in fact, expect some lawsuits in the case and then it will decided who is right and who is not.
