GigaMedia Limited, a major provider of online entertainment software and services, has announced that it recently appointed Dirk Chen as its chief financial officer. Chen has been a board member and special advisor at GigaMedia since November, 2011.
Chen has replaced Quincy Tang who has been in this role for over three years and who will now assume Chen’s previous position as special advisor to GigaMedia.
Chen has spent his 30-year career with leading financial firm, Taiwan-based Chailease Finance in several roles which includes senior advisor, president and chief financial officer after having served as chief financial officer of Financial One Corp in Singapore.
Whilst at Chailease Finance, Chen successfully led a number of important initiatives and tripled the firm’s revenues in the Chinese market.
John Stringer, chief executive officer at GigaMedia, said that they are very excited to be adding Chen to their team as his combination of financial, team-building and leadership skills as well as his proven capability to acquire financial solutions for enhanced performance will assist them in driving and managing growth.
Last month GigaMedia Limited appointed John Stringer into the position of chief executive officer and director replacing Yichin Lee who had resigned from the position after a short nine-month stint.
Stringer joined the company with 25 years of senior leadership experience and has a remarkable track record of driving strong growth and profitability in top global companies.
GigaMedia is a developer of software for online entertainment services for the global online gaming market and operates through Gaming Software and Service and Online Game and Service business.
