Leading skill-based game developer, GameCo, recently entered into a license agreement with the owner of the lucrative Star Trek franchise, CBS Consumer Products that was brokered by Richmond Management Group and will see GameCo develop new gambling video games that are based on the iconic science fiction Star Trek franchise.
It has been revealed that the first set of games will be deployed this fall when a StarTrek Deep Space Nine Adventure” video slot game will hit the casino floors on GameCo’s newly introduced video game gambling machines (VGMs), which are already available in four Atlantic City casinos. The video game will see players take lead of the U.S.S. Defiant as they battle their way to victor through ship-to-ship combat and will feature 3D models of the spacecraft to attract fans of Star Trek and the space combat genre.
The deal between the parties will also include games from the original television series, Voyager, Enterprise and The Next Generation shows.
GameCo launched its first games in Atlantic City last year and is new to the casino game industry. However, the developer intends deploying a minimum of 10 titles this year and has specialized in skill-based titles in an endeavor to draw in younger players and also extend playtime on each machine.
In terms of the deal GameCo will gain access to a multitude of Star Trek series that includes Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise.
