Bruno Venturi, a 41 year old Italian gambler was dubbed “The Man Who Couldn’t Lose” when he won a whopping Euro 707,000 at Eurobet Online Casino in just three and a half hours during 2009.
The player who hails from Naples and is a pet shop owner had been a member of Eurobet for two years when he decided to try out the site’s Sixty Seconds lottery style casino game. Bruno was ecstatic when his original wager of Euro 20 turned to Euro 707,665 within 3.5 hours.
However, Eurobet refuses to pay out the 2009 jackpot to Bruno as it claims that its software had malfunctioned during the player’s three and a half hour winning streak which resulted in unfair odds.
Bruno was arranging to travel to London in order to collect his winnings when he learned that Eurobet had decided not to pay out the jackpot as they claimed that a software upgrade had caused Bruno only to be charged for one out of six wagers which resulted in the odds being tilted in his favor.
Bruno is currently suing Eurobet in the High court in London in a trial that commenced a few days ago.
In Bruno’s defense, his lawyer said that he denied any software error as alleged by the defendant and that Eurobet has not established that he had broken any rules of the game whilst playing and winning.
Bruno’s lawyer claims that he had completed various steps and screens that were presented to him by Eurobet on the website and had paid for his bets on the game from funds in his account. He further claimed that Bruno had done everything that was required of him to pay for the bets.
The Sixty Seconds game has since been removed from Eurobet’s games lobby.
The trial will continue in London’s High Court this week.
